About Us
BGW Architects is an employee-owned firm that has worked with clients across 47 U.S. states and 3 foreign countries since 1996. Headquartered in Ogden, Utah, BGW is staffed with 10 licensed architects and a highly trained support team of designers, drafters, project managers, and personnel in the areas of business development, accounting, and administration. Principal Architect and President Don Mahoney joined BGW as a partner in 2003 and brought a wealth of design experience as the owner of a successful firm and former President of the American Institute of Architects local chapter.
Over the years, BGW has provided design and construction management services to a wide range of commercial and non-profit clients that include financial institutions, performing arts centers, schools & colleges, productive work space offices, and faith-based organizations.
Our unique approach is focused on revolutionizing the design and construction process and significantly reducing both upfront building costs and long term maintenance and operation expenses. We believe that lowering the cost of construction is a process that must begin at the earliest stages of design through a highly coordinated effort between the architect and general contractor.
Many architectural firms can provide creative design solutions, but creative design alone can be problematic if it is simply an exercise to show fantastic possibilities that have little chance of getting funded. BGW Architects emphasize the need to maintain a solid design approach in all budget environments by taking advantage of the free tools of architecture such as scale, proportion, texture, color and form. Our proven approach delivers innovative designs that work within the parameters of a client’s budget and actually get built.
